Big Freight Life LLC
Terms of Service for Businesses
Last updated October 16, 2026
Who we are and who this is for
SessionLayer is a scheduling and session-orchestration service operated by Big Freight Life LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("SessionLayer", "we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between us and the business or person that creates a workspace and uses the service ("you"). By creating a workspace or using SessionLayer you agree to them. If you use it for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
Booking a session with a business that uses SessionLayer? Those terms are different. See Terms for People Booking Sessions.
Eligibility
SessionLayer is for use in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old to create a workspace. You may not use SessionLayer if you are barred from receiving US services under US law, including if you are on a US government restricted-party list, or located in a country under a US embargo. You will not export or re-export the service in violation of US export controls or sanctions.
Accounts and workspaces
A workspace is the account a business uses to run its bookings. You are responsible for your workspace, the people you invite, everything done under your sign-ins, and keeping your sign-in details and any connected AI assistants secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are also responsible for your service descriptions, availability, prices, policies, connected accounts, and for the accuracy and legality of the information you provide. We are not liable for activity under your credentials.
Your business and your clients
SessionLayer is a tool. You, not SessionLayer, run your business and serve your clients. You are responsible for:
- the sessions you offer and deliver, and for any license, certification, insurance, or registration your profession or location requires;
- the booking terms, cancellation and refund rules, and other policies you write or select. They are yours, not ours, and we do not review them for legal sufficiency;
- giving your clients a privacy notice that covers how you use their information, and honoring their requests;
- emails and reminders sent on your behalf. You must have the right to contact the people you add or invite, and follow laws such as CAN-SPAM. Booking emails come from SessionLayer’s sending address and replies go to you;
- notice and consent for any recording, transcription, or AI note-taking you or your tools do;
- making your own services and content accessible to people with disabilities as the law requires of you; and
- sales, service, and other taxes on what you sell, and your tax reporting for payments you receive.
SessionLayer is not a party to any agreement between you and your clients and is not responsible for the sessions, advice, or results you provide.
Bookings, payments, and third-party services
Workspaces control the services they offer and remain responsible for delivering appointments, cancellations, refunds, taxes, and their obligations to their clients.
Calendar, email, video, payment, sign-in, hosting, and other services you or your clients connect (such as Google, Microsoft, Zoom, and Stripe) are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their outages, changes, errors, fees, or decisions, such as a payment provider holding funds or closing an account, or a calendar provider ending access. SessionLayer sends those providers only the data needed to complete an action you or your clients authorize. If a third-party service stops working, a booking, payment, or reminder may be delayed or fail.
Connected products, integrations, and webhooks
You can connect SessionLayer to other products, such as StoryView (so viewers can book a session about a specific recording, moment, or question), AI assistants, embedded booking widgets, and webhooks that send booking events to systems you choose. Each connected product is a separate product with its own terms and privacy policy, even when it is operated by Big Freight Life. Your use of it is governed by those terms, not these.
When you turn on a connection, you direct us to exchange the information it needs, such as the context a connected product shares to prepare a booking (for example a recording title, short summary, timestamp, excerpt, or question) and booking references we send back. You are responsible for having the right to share that information, for telling your clients about it where the law requires, and for the endpoints, accounts, and keys you connect. We do not control connected products and are not responsible for what they do with information after it leaves SessionLayer, or for their availability, changes, or errors. We may change or end an integration, and we may pause one that puts the service, your data, or others at risk.
Client payments, refunds, and chargebacks
When a client pays for a session, the payment is processed by Stripe under Stripe’s terms, including Stripe Connect terms if you connect your own account. The workspace, not SessionLayer, is the seller of the service and is responsible for it. SessionLayer is not a party to the sale between a workspace and its client.
Each workspace sets its own cancellation, rescheduling, and refund rules, and they are shown to the client before they book. For each paid service you choose whether a client who cancels online is refunded in full, in part, or not at all; when a client cancels online within the allowed time, SessionLayer requests that refund for you automatically. Refunds you make yourself, including when you cancel, are your decision and are not created automatically. Refunds are issued through the payment provider, and their timing depends on it.
SessionLayer does not decide disputes between workspaces and their clients, including refund disagreements and chargebacks. Those are between the workspace, the client, and the payment provider. You are responsible for chargebacks, reversals, disputes, and related fees on payments you receive, and you authorize us to share booking records with the payment provider to respond.
Subscription fees and taxes
Paid workspace subscriptions are billed by Polar, which acts as merchant of record for SessionLayer subscriptions. A subscription renews at the interval and price shown at checkout until you cancel it, which you can do in the workspace billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for.
Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Prices exclude taxes, which Polar adds where required; you are responsible for any other taxes on your use of the service. If we raise the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you may cancel before then.
Acceptable use
You may not use SessionLayer, or let anyone else use it, to:
- break the law or violate anyone’s rights, including unlawful discrimination;
- send spam or unsolicited messages, or message people who have not agreed to hear from you;
- harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate others;
- post or share content that infringes intellectual property, is deceptive, obscene, defamatory, or promotes violence or hatred toward people for who they are;
- upload or spread malware, or attempt to steal credentials;
- probe or bypass security controls, access data that is not yours, or overload the service;
- scrape the service or its pages, share one login among several people, build a competing product from it, or copy, resell, or sublicense the service without our written permission;
- collect or store the sensitive information described in the next section;
- make high-impact decisions about people without appropriate human review; or
- give an AI assistant or agent more authority than its owner granted.
We may remove content or suspend access, without notice where we think it necessary, if these rules are broken. Report abuse to sessionlayer-support@bfl.design.
Health and sensitive information
SessionLayer is not HIPAA compliant and does not sign Business Associate Agreements. Workspaces must not use intake questions, notes, or any other field to collect protected health information, Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, bank account numbers, government ID numbers, passwords, or similar sensitive data. If you need those protections, do not use SessionLayer for that information. You are responsible for removing any such data that gets entered.
Rescheduling and no-shows
Each service shows the workspace’s policy before booking. A missed session or a cancellation inside the published cutoff may be non-refundable, subject to applicable law and the workspace’s policy.
AI features
AI-assisted features may draft agendas, summaries, recommendations, and follow-ups. These are drafts and need human review before you rely on them. AI output may be wrong or incomplete, and it is not legal, medical, financial, tax, or other professional advice. You are responsible for what you send to clients or act on. Deterministic controls, not AI, govern availability, prices, permissions, payments, and booking state.
We do not use your content to train AI models, and we will not send it to an AI provider unless that provider is bound not to train on it and is listed on our Services we use page first. A member who connects their own AI assistant to SessionLayer through the AI connector is responsible for what that assistant does with their permissions, and for reviewing its actions. The assistant’s provider handles information under the member’s own agreement with it, and we do not control it.
Meeting conduct and recordings
SessionLayer does not record meetings by default. Anyone who records or transcribes a session is responsible for giving the notice and getting the consent required where the participants are located.
Your content and our license to run the service
You keep your rights in the content and data you put into SessionLayer, including your service descriptions, logos, and client information. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, and display it only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service, and to follow your instructions. You promise you have the rights needed to give us that license and that your content does not infringe or violate anyone’s rights.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without payment or obligation to you. That does not give us any rights in your data.
Our property, names, and logos
SessionLayer, its software, design, and brand belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you only a right to use the service while they are in effect. Do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. We will not use your name or logo in our marketing without your permission.
Copyright and trademark complaints
If you believe content on a SessionLayer page infringes your copyright or trademark, email sessionlayer-support@bfl.design with your contact details, what you own, where the content is, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We may remove the content and tell the workspace, who may respond. We end access for workspaces that repeatedly infringe.
Beta, preview, and free features
FEATURES WE LABEL BETA, PREVIEW, OR FREE, AND ANY ACCESS WE GRANT BY INVITATION BEFORE GENERAL AVAILABILITY, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT SUPPORT OR WARRANTY. They may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time, and we may limit or end them without liability.
Your data, export, and account closure
You give us permission to process your data to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum, which is part of these terms. Workspace administrators can export their data and request closure from workspace settings. Closure requests have a seven-day review and may be delayed by unresolved subscriptions, chargebacks, security investigations, or legally required retention. After termination you have 30 days to export your data, and then we delete or anonymize it as described in the Privacy Policy. Backups and records we must keep by law may last longer.
Legal requests
We may share information when we believe in good faith that a law, subpoena, court order, or valid government request requires it, or to protect people from serious harm. Where the law allows, we tell the workspace first so it can object. Because the workspace controls its clients’ information, we may direct requesters to it.
Availability and support
We work to keep SessionLayer reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we have no service-level agreement or uptime guarantee. We may suspend access when needed to protect the service or comply with law, and we may do maintenance that makes the service briefly unavailable. Support is by email on a reasonable-efforts basis.
Events beyond our control
Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by something beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disaster, war, labor action, government action, power or internet failure, or an outage at a provider like our hosting, payment, calendar, or email provider. This does not excuse a duty to pay money owed.
Disclaimer of warranties
SESSIONLAYER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT A BOOKING, PAYMENT, REMINDER, OR CALENDAR EVENT WILL BE DELIVERED OR ACCURATE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, BIG FREIGHT LIFE LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BOOKINGS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE, AND EVEN IF CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR $100. Any claim must be brought within two years after it arises. These limits do not apply to liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for gross negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct. Some laws do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
YOU WILL DEFEND AND COVER BIG FREIGHT LIFE LLC, AND ITS OWNERS AND PEOPLE, AGAINST THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS, AND THE RESULTING LOSSES, FINES, AND REASONABLE ATTORNEY’S FEES, THAT ARISE FROM YOUR DATA, YOUR CLIENTS, YOUR SESSIONS OR SERVICES, YOUR CONTENT OR POLICIES, THE MESSAGES SENT ON YOUR BEHALF, ANY RECORDING OR LACK OF CONSENT FOR IT, YOUR UNLAWFUL USE OF THE SERVICE, OR YOUR BREACH OF THESE TERMS. THIS APPLIES EVEN IF THE CLAIM ALLEGES THAT OUR ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO THE LOSS, BUT NOT WHERE THE CLAIM ARISES FROM OUR GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT. We will tell you promptly about a claim, let you control its defense (we may take part at our own cost), and you may not settle it in a way that admits fault for us without our consent.
Termination and survival
Either of us may end this agreement at any time; you can stop by cancelling and closing your workspace. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or your use creates risk for the service or others. Sections that by nature should survive, such as payment, your content license, liability, indemnification, and governing law, do.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email workspace administrators at least 15 days before they take effect. Continuing to use SessionLayer after that means you accept the changes. If you do not accept them, you may close your workspace.
Governing law and disputes
Texas law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, each of us will first try to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days after written notice. If that fails, claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and each of us consents to those courts. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. There is no mandatory arbitration and no class-action waiver.
JURY WAIVER: TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, EACH OF US KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY WAIVES THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY IN ANY LAWSUIT ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE. A JUDGE WILL DECIDE THE CASE.
General terms
- Independent parties: we are independent contractors. These terms create no partnership, agency, employment, or fiduciary relationship, and no one else can enforce them.
- Entire agreement: these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Data Processing Addendum are the whole agreement about the service and replace earlier ones. If you purchase under separate written terms we sign, those control where they conflict.
- Severability and no waiver: if a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies and the part is adjusted to the smallest extent needed. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up.
- Assignment: you may not transfer these terms without our written consent. We may transfer them in a merger, sale, or reorganization, or to a successor of the service.
- Notices and electronic communications: you agree we may give you notices by email to your workspace administrators, by posting in the service, or on this site, and that these meet any legal requirement for a written notice. Send notices to us at sessionlayer-support@bfl.design, or by mail to the address below.
- US government users: the service is a commercial product. A US government user gets only the rights these terms give to other customers.
Accessibility
We aim to build SessionLayer to meet WCAG 2.2 AA and fix barriers we learn about. Tell us about a barrier at sessionlayer-support@bfl.design. Content that workspaces write or upload is their responsibility.
Data Processing Addendum
When we process personal information for your workspace, the Data Processing Addendum applies and is part of these terms.
